  • Head and Neck regions – rich supply of Superior neck vessels – br of Dorsalis pedis and Artery of sinus tarsi – rare chances of avascular necrosis
  • Artery of tarsal canal – branches off the posterior tibial artery – approximately 1cm proximal to division into medial and lateral plantar arteries – most consistent major supply to body of talus – in tarsal canal gives 6 direct vessels to body of talus
  • Deltoid artery – br of the artery of tarsal canal – medial ¼ to ½ of body- II major supply to body
  • Artery of sinus tarsi – maximum variability in size and origin – lateral 1/8 to ¼ of talar body - but has more potential to supply blood if needed - formed from perforating peroneal, dorsalis pedis or an anastomosis of both – it anastomosis with A. of tarsal canal
  • Posterior tubercle – direct branches of posterior tibial
